What’s your worst chat-up line?!

Ladies, we’ve all been there. You’re having a fab Saturday night cocktail with your fave girlie mates when a lecherous lothario wanders over and attempts to woo you with his wit – the ultimate embarrassing, cheesy, and sometimes just funny chat-up line.

We know none of our fab heroes would be seen dead using one, but here’s a few of the worst and weirdest that we at Romance HQ have encountered in our own lives (posted anonymously, of course!):

• “My first boyfriend (we were both fifteen, which makes this slightly more OK) once sent me a text saying: ‘If I rote da dictionary U and I would b 2getha’. Strange to say I actually found its lameness endearing, so I suppose it worked.”

• “Do you like dancing? Can you go do it over there, so I can talk to your friend…?”

• “The guy that walks over, takes the ice cube out of your drink, stamps on it and says, ‘Now I’ve broken the ice…’ Although I think that one’s an urban myth.”

• “Is it hot in here…or is it just you?”

• “Cheer up, love, if you smiled you’d actually be pretty.”

• “A very drunk guy did once walk over to me in an Australian bar, proceeded to tell me that he was over twenty-one, and then said, ‘See – I can prove it’, planting the sloppiest kiss in the world on me! I still don’t really know why that was supposed to prove he was over twenty-one…”

• “Have you heard that Welsh people are very friendly? I’m Welsh and I think that they are!”

• “Dance with me or I’ll steal your handbag!”

• “I don’t normally hold doors open for girls, but I would for you.”
