Sharon Kendrick

Since starting a job which she describes as the best in the world, Sharon Kendrick has written over eighty books for Mills & Boon. This summer she collected an award for 75 published novels at a glitzy black & white party held at the Waldorf Astoria, in New York. For one night only, she felt like Cinderella….or one of her own heroines! She thinks that writing series romance is enormously satisfying and loves the creativity and freedom which comes with creating each new love story. And she loves happy endings!

When people ask her what is the "secret" of such a prolific career, she tells them it’s a combination of passion and discipline – and the desire to make your characters as real as possible. No matter what their flaws (and we all have those!) – the characters must be people that the reader can believe in and like, so that their journey becomes her journey.

She wishes each and every one of the New Voices 2011 finalists all the luck in the world – to which they must add oodles of hard work! And to the ones who didn’t make the cut this time – DON’T GIVE UP. There are successful published authors today who had many submissions turned down but who were determined to follow their dream.
So now you go and follow yours…..
